Support for carers

Are you a carer?

Are you looking after someone with any illness, disability or, through frailty, are unable to manage without support?

If so, then you are a carer

Carers are:

  • relatives, partners, friends or neighbours
  • any age
  • unpaid

Many people will not see themselves as a ‘carer’ but rather husband, wife, son, daughter, friend  and therefore do not access the support available to them.

Support available

Help is available locally. Carers Support West Sussex provides a range of services to support you in your caring role:

  • Local events and opportunities to meet other carers
