Information governance policies

What is information governance (IG)?

Good IG means that an organisation always has the right information in the right place at the right time. It ensures that information is held safely and securely and personal information in particular is only processed (held, obtained, recorded, used and shared) in line with the law.

It is achieved by having processes and procedures in place which ensure that all records are processed by an organisation in such a way that ensures that legal and ethical requirements are met and that records truly support the business processes within that organisation.

As a CCG we have been working hard on our IG agenda, undertaking audits and other tasks to assure ourselves of our compliance with statutory regulations and to offer assurance to our partner organisations and the public. Our IG policies ensure all staff are up to date with current legislation and procedure.
