Extraordinary meeting of the CCG's Governing Body: Assurance – 20 June 2017

Thursday 8th June, 2017

NHS Coastal West Sussex CCG will be holding an extraordinary meeting of its Governing Body: Assurance on 20 June 2017 to consider proposed changes to the CCG’s Constitution.

The recommendations are part of a detailed Governance Review that was completed earlier this year, looking at the way the CCG works and its governance arrangements.

A number of improvements have been recommended and Governing Body members will meet on the 20 June to consider these changes.

The recommendations include refreshing the key governance meetings of the organisation so that going forward there will be a single Governing Body that will meet 10 times a year; five formal meetings in public and five development sessions. This replaces the two level structure of the Governing Body: Clinical Commissioning Executive and Governing Body: Assurance.

The Governance Review has been a key part of the CCG’s work after it was issued with Legal Directions by NHS England on 20 March 2017.

If agreed, the new arrangements will come into effect immediately, with the Governing Body meeting scheduled for 27 June 2017 being used as a development session, and then the first formal meeting in public under the new arrangements will take place in July.
