Dementia Action Week events across Worthing

Wednesday 15th May, 2019

Worthing’s Dementia Alliance aim to make a huge impact next week across the town with Dementia Hubs and awareness raising events.

Many of the town’s top charities and organisations have joined in with Dementia Friendly Worthing’s initiative to make 2019 a year when even more people become dementia friendly and learn about the devasting impact that dementia can have on people's lives and their families.

The week starts with a launch at the Worthing Hospital (Penguin Foyer) at 10am on Monday 20 May with Chesswood School Choir and the Town Crier.

Dementia Action Day on Tuesday 21 May is centred around South Street Square, central Worthing where we have a Vintage Bus arriving at 10am, lots of stalls with info, advice and support for individuals and carers. Cycall will also be coming along with their fantastic bikes for people with dementia and other needs. The bus will be taking people with dementia to Ferring and will return in the afternoon. Abbeyfield Ferring are hosting refreshments and singing and will also have advice and support for carers and families as well as for people living in the community who have dementia.

Why not encourage people you know to come along to a hub or event?

Dementia Hub will be in Worthing Library on Wednesday 22 May between 9.30am and 12.30pm and Worthing Hospital between 5 and 8pm; Worthing Hospital has a special event on Thursday 23 May and, on Friday, the Dementia Hub will be there again for the week’s finale between 9am and 1pm.

There is lots more happening. For more details of these or any other events, visit
