People have the opportunity to talk to the GPs leading local health services in Coastal West Sussex this week.

NHS Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting people to meet with them on Wednesday 13th November and talk about their plans for local NHS services.

Led by local GPs and health professionals, the CCG became responsible for the healthcare of almost 500,000 people living across Adur, Arun, Bognor Regis, Chanctonbury, Chichester and Worthing on 1st April 2013 as part of the national NHS reforms.

The event, which is being held at Littlehampton Town Council, starts at 12.00pm with a market place where local residents will be able to talk to the doctors leading local health services, learn more about what the NHS is doing locally, and find out how you can get involved in improving healthcare.

At 1.30pm, there will be an opportunity to put your questions to senior members of the CCG.

The event will be an opportunity for local people to meet with the new leaders of local health services, find out more about what is planned for the local area and have your say on local health services.

In particular, local doctors are keen to talk to local people about the challenges that face the local NHS and how these can be managed.

Dr Katie Armstrong, CCG Chief Clinical Officer and GP at Pulborough Medical Group, explained:

“The NHS is a treasured national institution. We need to cherish it, but we also need to transform it. Future trends threaten its sustainability, and that means taking some tough decisions now to ensure that its future is guaranteed. We believe that by working together, we have a unique opportunity to transform our local NHS into a health service that is ready for the future.”

The event is being held at Littlehampton Town Council, Manor House, Church Street, Littlehampton, BN17 5EW.

If anyone wants to submit a question formally ahead of the event, please send them to Laura Robertson, NHS Coastal West Sussex CCG, 1 The Causeway, Goring by Sea, Worthing, West Sussex, BN12 6BT or email

The CCG’s Governing Body meeting will then be held from 3.00-5.00pm. You can find out more about the meeting on here.
